The Loy Krathong Festival is one of the grand event in Thailand. Loy Krathong has built reputation of Thailand as the popular tourist attractions for decades. Beyond the religious activities of Thai people that thankfully pay homage to the rivers that nourish the life Thai people and bring prosperity. Hence water is vital for the life of Thai people, so that there is such a festival especially that provide an opportunity for people to thank the river by floating the “Krathong”, an item made from a slice of banana tree decorating with flowers and banana leaves together with incenses and candles, on the river. Such unique character is the special activities beyond just floating Krathong on the river, which is Releasing Sky Lanterns. It is believed that by releasing the sky lanterns in to the sky on the Loy Krathong festival, the karma (bad lucks) will also release and the good fortune will be with the one who do so. Such special activity has taken Chiang Mai Loy Krathong Yi Peng festival to the international reputation especially at the Dhudongkasatarn Lanna in Sansai district where the massive lanterns have been released with its distinguish pattern annually.
This year, Innoventz, an experienced event organizer, is collaborating with the Royal Park Ratchapreuk (public organization) to host the “MEGA LANTERNS FESTIVAL & Majestic Yi Peng Festival” on the Friday of 3rd November 2017 during 18:00 – 24:00 hours. This event is prepared to host up to 3,000 guests (seats) for the sit-down traditional KhanTok Dinner and Thai-Cuisine Buffet served with refreshment drinks. Local Cultural and Art performances are also provided to entertain the distinguish guests of the events. The grand avenue of the Royal Park will be fully decorated with the Local Traditional Lanna Style.
Grand Highlight of the festival is that thousands of delegates will together make a wish and releasing thousands of lanterns into the sky of the full moon night amongst the clam and beautiful traditional music and performance.
